MacBook Air
Welcome to the
newly announced MacBook Air! This is Apple's first attempt
at an ultra portable notebook. It has the same size 13.3"
widescreen screen, but features an LED backlit screen. Also
included is full sized keyboard with fiber-optic
backlighting taken from the MacBook Pro and a multi-touch
trackpad with iPhone like features. 802.11n and Bluetooth
2.0 is also built-in as standard equipment. A USB 2.0,
audio line out, and Micro DVI Port complements the rest of
the ports. The entire notebook measures only .76" thick and
only weighs 3 lbs! Because of this, Apple had to leave out
the optical drive and is an optional add-on. If you choose
not to purchase the optical drive, there's a utility that
will allow you to share an optical drive from nearly any
Mac or PC. The MacBook Air uses a 1.8" notebook hard drive
in 120 GB HD, or a 128 GB SSD (Solid State
Hard Drive) option,
a
first ever for an Apple Computer! Missing from the specs is
ethernet, FireWire, and audio line-in.
