Introducing the new Xserve!
Along side the MacPro, the Xserve received an update as
well also getting the Quadcore Xeon treatment. As like the
Mac Pro, the Xserve has a totally new interior, yet the
exterior basically stays the same. Now included in the
Xserve, is two quadcore Xeon processors running at up to
3.0 GHz. Also included are 3 Serial ATA or SAS HDs for up
to 3TB of internal storage, using "hot-swappable" hard
drive bays. Dual Gigabit Ethernet is included along side
optional dual redundant power supplies. The Xserve uses the
same FB ECC DDR2 800 MHz RAM as the Mac Pro, configurable
up to 32GB. As like the previous Xserves, it comes in a 1-U
form factor and a rackmount kit is included with all
Xserves. Also, an unlimited user client of Mac OS X.5
Leopard Server Ed is pre-installed on any configuration.
The Xserve comes in 1 standard configuration like the
MacPro and has many optional addons listed below the
standard configuration.
